FAQs

How do I register?
No matter how you are registering ( complete on-line registration or print brochure from web site and submit by mail or fax, or drop off at LAWC), your contacts MUST HAVE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS IN ORDER TO REGISTER a team. If a valid email is not supplied, your registration WILL NOT be processed.

Where can I find a waiver?
ALL PARTICIPANTS/PARENTS/GUARDIANS MUST PRINT OFF AND COMPLETE THE ENTIRE WAIVER TO BE SUBMITTED AT REGISTRATION CHECK-IN. A waiver may be obtained from the web site (www.as3on3sports.com) or at time of registration.

When is the deadline for registration?
Deadline for registration is Thursday, May 28tht (5 pm). All players will receive confirmation notice that their team has been accepted, along with tournament and check-in information.

How man players can we have on the roster?
You may have a maximum of 5 players and must have a minimum of 3 players.

Must I register on a team, or can I register as an individual?
You must register as part of a team.

Where/when do we get our schedule?
Schedules will be posted on the website by Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at the latest. They will also be available for teams at registration check-in the Friday before the Tournament.

Where/When is registration check-in?
Check-in occurs the Friday before the tournament. This is where each team member will drop off a SIGNED WAIVER, ONLY then will you receive your tournament wristband.

What time does the tournament begin?
The first scheduled games are at 9:00 am on Saturday morning. Note that not all teams will be playing in this first time slot.

How many games are we guaranteed to play?
The tournament starts with every team competing in a minimum of three (3) scheduled games. The tournament organizers reserve the right to reduce this number, or shorten games, in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Who can play?
Anyone in grade 1 or older is eligible to play.

How is the tournament bracket set up? What determines divisions?
When determining the divisions, teams are placed in divisions based on the oldest player on their team. For example, if a male team of players ages 14, 15, and 16 sign up, they will play in a male division of 16-year olds.
NOTE: Teams will be seeded according to the information provided for each individual on the entry form. The tournament staff will make every effort to place teams into divisions with similar players.

Can we have a team with both male and female players?
Yes. If you have a mixed-gender team, you will be placed in the male division unless there are enough teams registered to support a full co-ed division.

Is equipment provided, or do we have to bring our own ball?
One game ball is provided on each court for each game. You are welcome to bring your own ball for practice time prior to games.

Do we have to have a coach?
Your team can play with or without a coach.

Are there referees for every game?
There will be a qualified and reliable referee present to make the calls at every game. Court Supervisors will also be on hand for score-keeping purposes, as well as to officiate, if need be.

What is the weather policy?

The Tournament Director will make the call on-site if conditions warrant postponing or cancelling games.

What is the refund policy?
Once registered ( on-line using PayPal , mail, fax or drop-off), we do not offer full refunds. Partial refunds may be allocated if games are cancelled due to rain.

Is there anywhere on-site I can eat during the day?
There are concession stands on the grounds where you can purchase food throughout the day.
Alternatively, you can pack a picnic and eat in the park!

Is there anyone on-hand to take care of my first aid needs?
A First Aid tent with qualified personnel is set up on-location to provide participants with basic medical assistance throughout the weekend.
